Our team's diverse expertise in strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and integration enables us to manage the entire process of sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and executing acquisitions and other strategic initiatives.
About the Role
As the Strategy & Scouting Lead, you will play a pivotal role in translating OpenAI's strategic objectives into compelling inorganic growth opportunities. You will maintain an acute awareness of AI trends, investment themes, and the startup ecosystem while proactively identifying high-impact companies and technologies. Serving as a strategic advisor, you will help shape OpenAI's trajectory through actionable and innovative inorganic strategies. In collaboration with your Corporate Development peers, you will assess opportunities, lead due diligence, perform valuations, and drive transaction execution.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
Monitoring and interpreting critical trends across AI, technology, and related sectors, translating competitive insights into impactful strategies for OpenAI's leadership.
Proactively identifying acquisition, strategic investment, and partnership opportunities by cultivating strong relationships within the venture capital, startup, and incubator communities.
Collaborating closely with internal leaders to align OpenAI’s strategic priorities with external market intelligence, identifying areas where inorganic growth can expedite our objectives.
Managing transactions including opportunity framing, market and company due diligence, financial assessments, and deal structuring.
Working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Go-To-Market, Legal, Finance, and Executive Leadership to evaluate and drive opportunities to fruition.
You Will Excel in This Role If You Possess:
10-12+ years of experience in strategy/consulting, venture capital, investment banking, corporate development, or product management, with a proven ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
A genuine passion for AI and its transformative potential.
Extensive experience in analyzing emerging technologies and markets, enjoying direct engagement with founders, investors, and industry leaders.
