As the Art Director at Vlisco, you will be pivotal in manifesting our brand's identity and value proposition. Your expertise will transform our Brand World, Field of Play, and Visual Identity into compelling, fashion-forward visual narratives across various platforms. With an acute attention to detail, quality, and cultural relevance, you will guarantee that every visual representation resonates with contemporary elegance and aligns with our brand ethos.
You will harmonize conceptual brilliance with a proactive approach and a keen execution sense. Within the Core Business framework, you will ensure visual consistency while continually refining the brand’s visual language through aesthetic taste, creative insight, and meticulous, high-standard execution—instinctively identifying what feels modern, desirable, and timely. You will lead and motivate a team of four creatives, collaborating closely with internal departments such as Product, E-commerce, and Design. Functionally, you will partner with the Creative Director for concept validation and creative guidance while operationally reporting to the Marketing Director regarding priorities, timelines, and KPIs. Although your focus is regional, your initiatives will often have a global impact through e-commerce and digital assets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Translate the brand vision and value proposition into sophisticated, campaign-ready visual landscapes that are both contemporary and distinctive;
Exhibit strong aesthetic judgment and styling sensibility in all visual outputs, ensuring that concepts are transformed into impeccably executed assets that uphold high fashion and creative standards;
Establish, maintain, and protect visual execution standards across print, digital, retail, and wholesale channels;
Lead the development and execution of campaign layouts, lookbooks, digital content, packaging, and POS materials, adhering to agreed budgets and timelines while understanding fashion storytelling and image creation;
Direct and collaborate with photographers, stylists, set designers, and agencies to achieve high-quality, cohesive visual outcomes;
Ensure visual alignment, consistency, and quality while consistently elevating the creative standards;
Provide hands-on leadership in shoot preparation, on-set direction, post-production, and final asset delivery with a meticulous attention to detail and finish.
Oversee Visual Merchandising efforts, including façade updates, quarterly retail refreshes, and VM retail transformations to support significant product launches and impactful retail concepts.
