Join OpenRouter as a Customer Engineer, where you will serve as the technical leader during our enterprise sales processes. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with account executives to uncover client needs, deliver engaging product demonstrations, design tailored solutions, and address any technical challenges that arise. You will become a trusted advisor, guiding prospects in understanding how OpenRouter effectively addresses their unique AI-related challenges.
This position is situated at the crossroads of sales, engineering, and product management, requiring you to be equally adept in customer interactions, building demo environments, and providing invaluable feedback to our engineering teams.
Your Responsibilities
Conduct in-depth technical discovery calls to assess the prospect's AI/ML architecture, use cases, and specific requirements.
Gain deep knowledge of OpenRouter’s offerings and how they can effectively tackle business challenges.
Evaluate technical compatibility, including aspects such as API integration, model specifications, data residency, and compliance needs.
Craft and present tailored product demonstrations that highlight OpenRouter's capabilities aligned with the prospect’s use cases.
Manage proof-of-concept environments and develop representations of OpenRouter’s solutions.
Collaborate with Account Executives throughout the sales journey, from initial discovery to final closing. Address proposals and technical inquiries from clients. Participate in customer meetings, quarterly business reviews, and executive presentations.
Resolve technical objections and competitive challenges while assisting in contract negotiations regarding technical specifications, service level agreements, and implementation timelines.
Provide constructive feedback to the Product and Engineering teams regarding feature requests, competitive analysis, and market needs to influence product roadmap prioritization based on client feedback.
Stay informed on the latest trends in AI/ML and the competitive landscape.
