Position Overview:
As a Customer Service Associate (CSA) - Carts Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. Your responsibilities will include providing accurate, friendly, and efficient service, as well as collecting and returning shopping carts from the parking lot. You will assist customers with their groceries as needed.
Essential Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
- Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, analyzing, interpreting, and understanding English.
- Ability to stand and walk for the entirety of the scheduled shift.
- Physical capability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift weights up to 25 lbs; occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Tolerance for dust and cleaning agents as part of routine cleaning tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Willingness to adhere to assigned work schedules and comply with attendance policies.
Key Responsibilities:
The performance of your duties will require you to fulfill the essential functions listed above, including but not limited to:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shopping environment.
- Ensure floors are free of debris and spills.
- Welcome customers and offer prompt, courteous service and support.
- Clean shopping carts as necessary.
- Collect empty shopping carts from designated areas and return them to their proper locations.
- Handle damaged or return-to-stock items per company policy, prioritizing refrigerated and perishable products.
- Conduct all tasks in compliance with Local, State, and Federal regulations relevant to the Front-End operations.
- Wear appropriate attire as per company guidelines, including a uniform and name badge.
- Follow food safety standards, including proper hand washing practices and the use of disposable gloves when handling food.
- Adhere to the company's HAZCOM program, following manufacturer instructions for safe chemical use.
- Promote any ongoing charitable initiatives to customers.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the products available in store.
- Utilize and maintain equipment as required, reporting any issues as necessary.
