Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently operate all kitchen equipment.
- Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare high-quality food products.
- Receive and accurately process telephone orders.
- Conduct inventory checks and complete related paperwork.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and the facility on a daily basis.
Training & Development
Comprehensive orientation and on-the-job training will be provided.
Required Communication Skills
Ability to understand and provide clear written instructions. Strong verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members for order processing, both via phone and in-person.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) is essential. Must be able to make accurate monetary changes. Excellent verbal, written, and telephone communication skills are necessary for order processing. Strong motor coordination is required for accurate and speedy movements when entering orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Work Environment
Exposure to varying weather conditions when performing outdoor tasks such as trash removal. In-store temperatures can range from 36 degrees in coolers to above 90 degrees in some work areas. Employees may encounter sudden temperature changes and fumes from food odors, as well as cornmeal dust. The work environment may include cramped quarters and exposure to hot surfaces/tools (up to 500 degrees). Care must be taken with sharp edges and moving mechanical parts.
Physical Requirements
Most tasks require standing, with walking typically limited to short distances. Paperwork is generally completed while seated at a desk or table. Deliveries of bulk products occur twice a week or more, requiring team members to unload using a hand truck. Cases of ingredients may weigh up to 50 pounds and need to be lifted from the floor to shelves up to 72 inches high.
