Summary: As a CWI QA/QC Inspector, you will play a pivotal role in performing field inspections on various systems within our industrial construction projects, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal regulations. Your responsibilities will include reviewing construction plans, identifying compliance issues, documenting findings, and collaborating with contractors and municipal officials to maintain the highest safety and quality standards.
** This is a full-time onsite position located in North Phoenix, AZ (85027). **
Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential to the role, with additional responsibilities as required:
- Conduct weld inspections and daily field assessments.
- Prepare and review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR).
- Monitor and document subcontractors' WPS, PQR, Quality Management Plans (QMPs), weld logs, weld maps, and welder certifications.
- Maintain comprehensive records of inspections, test results, and pertinent data.
- Log inspection reports electronically, entering results into permitting software.
- Review construction plans to ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards.
- Identify and document non-compliance issues onsite, ensuring quality standards are met according to contract specifications and approved designs; notify contractors and keep detailed records.
- Draft, initiate, and follow up on Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for materials or work that does not conform to approved designs, codes, or scope of work.
- Possess knowledge of code restrictions related to welding and repairs of vessels and piping.
- Provide recommendations on interpretations of city, state, federal, and construction codes.
