The Office of Safe Neighborhoods is actively seeking a dedicated and skilled Data Analyst to lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the utilization of criminal justice, human services, and various administrative data. This role will involve transforming raw data into actionable insights through routine reports, interactive dashboards, and geospatial analyses, specifically to bolster criminal justice planning and operations for the Incarcerated Community Crisis Intervention Program (ICCIP).
The ICCIP is committed to reducing violence within correctional facilities and surrounding communities. By employing a Credible Messenger model, community leaders work to engage individuals both inside prisons and within the community. This program champions collaboration, conflict resolution, and resource sharing among communities and facilities.
In this role, the Data Analyst will play a critical part in ensuring that all performance metrics and objectives are achieved consistently. This position will involve extensive coordination with other Office of Public Safety (OPS) and City personnel, law enforcement agencies, social service providers, and community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of research and data analysis projects under the guidance of the OSN Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis, as well as the OPS Director of Performance Management & Technology.
- Oversee and design the reporting environment, including data sources, security protocols, and metadata management.
- Define project requirements and work closely with subject matter experts, technical personnel, and end-users.
- Handle confidential information in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Provide technical support to departmental staff and IT personnel from partner agencies that supply data for key performance indicators.
- Conduct statistical analyses for various projects and reports.
- Create graphs, comprehensive statistical reports, and presentations detailing project outcomes and routine data requirements.
- Update, implement, and maintain procedures for replicating analytical products.
- Develop project management plans and monitor the timely achievement of milestones to ensure timely delivery of outputs.
- Offer guidance on data collection and performance measurement for program and policy development.
- Support implementation through database creation, conducting baseline analyses, and establishing ongoing reporting frameworks.
- Act as a liaison with academic partners regarding formal evaluations or external analyses.
