As a Paraprofessional at Providence Englewood School Corp, you will play a vital role in supporting classroom teachers by assisting with designated special education students. Your responsibilities will include monitoring student progress and ensuring adherence to school rules and regulations. We are seeking candidates who are genuinely passionate about fostering the academic, social, and emotional growth of elementary school students. Administrative Responsibilities
- Collaborate effectively with case managers, special education teachers, and families of special education students.
- Accompany students to assemblies, monitor behaviors, and engage with groups.
- Supervise students at all times, ensuring they are never left unattended.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Provide appropriate test-taking accommodations, including reading questions aloud or extending time limits.
- Maintain records of student academic and behavioral performance.
- Support special education students within the general education classroom by addressing their academic needs.
- Assist general education teachers in adapting curriculum materials and teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences alongside the general education teacher to discuss student progress.
Professional Responsibilities
- Dress in a professional manner appropriate for the educational environment.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined in the teacher's handbook.
- Attend faculty meetings and other required gatherings.
- Engage in professional development through reading, seminars, workshops, and classes annually.
- Participate in Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences, and other obligatory school events.
- Submit forms and documents punctually.
- Uphold the rules, regulations, and consequences outlined by the school.
- Consistently implement and monitor student behavior.
- Collect, monitor, and record data as necessary.
