Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and qualified Special Education Teacher for a full-time position at a high school in Dearborn, MI. This role involves working closely with a diverse caseload of 19 students with varying disabilities, delivering personalized educational instruction tailored to their unique needs. The position requires an onsite presence and offers morning shifts, totaling approximately 20 hours per week (4 hours per day). The assignment is set to commence as soon as possible and will extend through the Extended School Year (ESY) program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized educational instruction designed to meet the specific needs of high school students with disabilities.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to enhance student success.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
- Create and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Michigan Special Education teaching credential.
- At least 1 year of experience working with high school students in special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of instructional strategies for a range of disabilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in managing a caseload of approximately 19 students.
