About the Real Estate & Finance Team
The Real Estate & Finance Team is a cohesive and dynamic collective consisting of 11 legal professionals, including nine real estate attorneys and two public finance attorneys, alongside two paralegals and three legal secretaries. This team oversees all legal matters associated with real estate, debt financing, and various business transactions for the City of San Francisco. Our real estate attorneys handle a diverse array of transactions and property management issues, ranging from intricate development projects, such as mixed-use commercial and affordable housing developments, to transactions involving purchases, sales, leases, loans, legislation, easements, and more. The finance attorneys facilitate the City’s bond and debt transactions, ensuring the funding necessary to build, operate, and maintain essential City functions and services. We collaborate closely with various City departments, including the Office of Economic and Workforce Development, the Real Estate Department, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, and others.
Deputy City Attorney Position and Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled real estate attorney with a solid background in transactional work and real estate development. In this role, you will primarily negotiate real estate contracts and structure transactions on behalf of different City departments, providing critical legal advice regarding compliance with City regulations and contract obligations. Attorneys may also represent the City at Board of Supervisor and Commission hearings concerning contracts and projects they have handled.
