The NYC Department of Design and Construction is actively seeking a Deputy Director of Public Buildings (Capital Budget) within our Finance & Procurement Division. This pivotal role involves overseeing a dedicated team of financial analysts while managing the agency’s substantial $7 billion capital budget. As a key player, you will forge strong relationships with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), DDC project managers, and client agencies to expedite project delivery efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include resolving budgetary challenges, facilitating communication among stakeholders, and representing the Budget Director at various strategic meetings. You will also monitor and report on the fiscal year commitment plan's progress for client agencies, ensuring alignment with agency goals. Additionally, you will lead your team in initiating Certificates to Proceed (CP) based on the Commitment Plan and meticulously review CP requests submitted by your staff.
To excel in this role, you must ensure that all budget functions, including the preparation of CP, Budget Code Modifications (BCM), and other requests, are completed promptly while securing necessary appropriations and FM authorizations. You will also innovate and support new strategies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
