Join BESIX as a Deputy Health & Safety Advisor for our Belgium-Luxembourg Business Unit, where you will play a pivotal role in enhancing health, safety, and environmental standards. In this position, you will lead specialized HSE projects in collaboration with Health and Safety advisors and Environmental Coordinators. You will also take on the responsibility of becoming an independent trainer for BESIX's core programs, including BE SAFE and IOSH Managing Safely & Working Safely.
- Oversee health and safety matters at the Head Office, ensuring compliance with legal standards, maintenance, evacuation procedures, and first aid organization.
- Act as the Health and Safety Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for various BESIX Group events, internships, and the BESIX Environment entity.
- Manage relationships with external prevention services, conducting risk analyses, medical exams, and various projects.
- Conduct site visits, facilitate safety inductions, and perform Performance Rating Tool (PRT) assessments as necessary.
- Assist in tender processes, safety days, and the 3 green lights procedure as required.
- Ensure legal compliance in health and safety for the Head Office and BESIX Environment, providing support to construction yards.
- Engage in HS-related events and working groups to remain updated on new legislation and industry innovations.
- Support the onboarding process for new HSE colleagues in BU Belgium/Luxembourg.
- Design and implement tailored HSE training programs that meet specific role and project requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to uphold HSE standards across all BESIX projects and facilities.
- Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to effectively integrate HSE practices into project planning and execution.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and accidents, providing comprehensive reports and recommendations for preventive measures.
- Engage with regulatory bodies, representing BESIX in HSE matters to ensure strong relationships and adherence to local and international standards.
