Shirley Contracting Company, LLC is actively seeking a Design-Build Project Manager to oversee diverse transportation projects throughout the DC/MD/VA region.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the design-build project team through all stages of project pursuit and execution, including technical writing, work planning, pre-award, post-award, and post-design services.
Collaborate effectively with clients, design teams, and construction personnel to develop staged design deliverables, integrating value engineering principles and constructability assessments.
Oversee the design comment response process and proactively address stakeholder concerns throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop preliminary and baseline schedules using appropriate scheduling software.
Coordinate with internal teams and consultants to manage and schedule utility relocations, right-of-way acquisitions, and public outreach initiatives.
Facilitate progress meetings with owners, designers, and the project delivery team to ensure alignment and transparency.
Oversee the procurement process and negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors to ensure project success.
Uphold the company’s health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
Foster and maintain strong working relationships with clients, designers, subcontractors, and team members.
Qualifications:
A minimum of 5 years of construction management experience, ideally in civil, highway, or infrastructure projects.
Comprehensive understanding of the design-build project delivery method, including design disciplines, right-of-way, utility coordination, public involvement, and construction processes.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, organizational, and time-management skills.
Proficient in scheduling software, particularly Primavera P6.
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
A collaborative team player with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred.
Must successfully complete a pre-employment physical and drug screening.
