As the Director of Housekeeping at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, you will oversee the immaculate cleanliness and meticulous maintenance of all guest rooms and public areas within the hotel. You will lead the largest team on the property, showcasing exceptional leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold and enhance cleanliness standards across all guest accommodations.
- Ensure the availability of necessary resources, tools, and equipment, including linen supplies.
- Strategically plan, organize, and execute deep cleaning and job cycle projects for both guest rooms and public spaces, including valet services.
- Research industry trends and implement improvements to enhance service quality.
- Recruit, select, and develop a high-performing housekeeping team.
- Foster high morale among colleagues through recognition programs and effective communication, including performance management.
- Conduct new hire orientations and annual performance evaluations.
- Manage effective scheduling, vacation planning, and departmental productivity within budget constraints.
- Prepare and oversee the departmental operational budget.
- Plan and execute capital expenditures efficiently.
- Implement a procurement strategy that ensures operating supplies and expenses align with budget expectations.
- Address and resolve all guest feedback and concerns promptly.
- Develop and update job descriptions and standard operating procedures for all shifts and roles.
- Maintain a safe work environment and ensure all team members prioritize safety.
- Revise departmental health and safety protocols as necessary.
- Advance departmental environmental initiatives and recycling efforts.
- Collaborate with the Engineering department to ensure the upkeep of guest rooms and public areas.
- Maintain positive relationships with other departments and outside vendors.
- Coordinate and schedule the work of outside contractors effectively.
- Contribute positively to the hotel's leadership team.
