Join our dynamic team at Weave as a meticulous and forward-thinking Director of Internal Audit. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that the company adheres to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX). Your responsibilities will include assessing internal controls, conducting rigorous testing, and collaborating across departments to enhance our control environment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), risk assessment, and audit methodologies, particularly within publicly traded companies.
This role offers a hybrid working model (primarily in the office with flexible remote options).
Reporting directly to the Corporate Controller.
Key Responsibilities
SOX Compliance & Internal Controls Management
Lead and oversee Weave’s SOX 404(b) compliance program, encompassing documentation, testing, remediation, and continuous monitoring.
Identify, document, and understand key business processes and internal controls concerning financial reporting (ICFR).
Create and uphold risk control matrices (RCMs), narratives, and flowcharts that align with COSO and Sarbanes-Oxley standards.
Evaluate the control environment proactively, identifying gaps and deficiencies with actionable remediation plans.
Assess the implications of business changes, system implementations, and acquisitions on internal controls and financial reporting.
Collaborate with senior leadership to identify, evaluate, and monitor significant technology risks, particularly those related to digital transformation and AI integration.
Audit & Risk Management
Design and maintain a risk-based internal audit plan targeting the Company’s primary financial, operational, and compliance risks.
Plan and execute comprehensive internal audits.
Establish and monitor anti-fraud controls and risk mitigation strategies.
Evaluate the reliability, integrity, and timely reporting of financial and operational information.
Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant laws and regulations.
Foster a culture of consistent risk awareness and system reliability across financial and technological environments.
Leadership & Collaboration
Provide oversight and mentorship to the internal audit team, promoting professional development and best practices.
Cultivate strong relationships with stakeholders to drive effective communication and collaboration throughout the audit process.
