About the job
About the Role
At Onapsis, we understand the critical nature of business applications that are often overlooked in cybersecurity. Our mission is to provide tailored solutions designed specifically for these essential applications, ensuring our clients' SAP and business application environments are secure across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise infrastructures.
As we expand our SaaS offerings while maintaining our robust on-premise product suite, our Technical Operations team is transforming into a centralized platform-level production and release organization. We are in search of a Director of Technical Operations to take charge of the reliability, security, tooling, and operational excellence of all production and customer-facing services.
Summary of the Role
The Director of Technical Operations will be responsible for the comprehensive operational management of Onapsis’ SaaS platforms and on-premise product catalog. This role encompasses leadership over DevOps, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Cloud Engineering, internal tooling and automation, release management, and shared operational services.
The successful candidate will define the processes for how software is built, released, secured, deployed, and operated across both cloud and customer-hosted environments, ensuring consistency, reliability, and scalability while respecting product boundaries and customer infrastructure ownership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all production environment operations across SaaS platforms, focusing on availability, performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Manage operational services, tooling, and release processes supporting the on-premise product catalog, including build systems, release pipelines, update mechanisms, and deployment automation.
- Lead and expand teams across DevOps, DevSecOps, SRE, Cloud Engineering, release management, and internal tooling/automation.
- Establish and maintain CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and release management standards to ensure safe, repeatable, and auditable deployments across SaaS and on-prem products.
- Implement SRE practices including SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, incident response, post-incident reviews, and operational readiness evaluations.
- Collaborate with Product Engineering to delineate clear boundaries between development ownership and production operations, including escalation, on-call, and handoff processes.
- Develop an operational tooling strategy encompassing observability, logging, alerting, tracing, automation frameworks, and developer productivity tools.
