As the District Finance Director at KIPP Delta Public Schools, you will lead all financial operations with a focus on ensuring fiscal integrity, compliance with state and federal regulations, and alignment with our strategic goals. Your leadership will encompass the management of budgeting processes, financial reporting, audits, and the supervision of the finance team. Collaborating closely with the Executive Director and senior leadership, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial health and sustainability of the organization.
Financial Management and Reporting
- Oversee the development and management of the annual budget in partnership with district and school leaders.
- Prepare and deliver accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Monitor cash flow, investments, and financial forecasts to maintain economic stability; maintain the chart of accounts and supervise general ledger activities.
- Manage financial systems such as eFinance, AvidXchange, TimeClock Plus, and others.
Compliance, Reporting, and Audit Oversight
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies, including GAAP/GASB/FASB and the Arkansas Financial Handbook.
- Lead responsibilities during audit season, focusing on internal controls and fixed assets.
- Coordinate and supervise the preparation of tax filings, including Form 990.
- Prepare and submit necessary ADE Cycle Reports.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to protect assets and ensure precise financial reporting.
Payroll and Benefits Administration
- Establish and enforce procurement policies and procedures.
- Oversee the offer letter process and payroll calendar setup.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Develop relationships with vendors and service providers, including contract negotiations and compliance oversight.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable functions.
Team Leadership and Development
- Train, supervise, and mentor the finance team; ensure accuracy in payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and daily productivity.
- Promote a culture of professional growth, high performance, continuous improvement, and accountability within the finance team.
- Collaborate with various departments to support organizational objectives and initiatives; respond to internal and external inquiries as needed.
