The District Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in driving sales and fostering relationships with both existing and prospective customers in the Western Kentucky and Southern Illinois regions. Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Manager and indirectly to the VP of Sales of RMR, this position is crucial for servicing all major accounts in the area.
Internally, the District Sales Manager collaborates with General Managers, Inside Sales Managers, Production and Shipping Managers, and the Accounts Receivable and Payable teams, as well as other corporate staff as necessary. Externally, this role involves building and maintaining relationships with key accounts and customers throughout the region. The ideal candidate will possess the expertise and experience to synchronize their sales initiatives with facility operations and have a strong background in selling building material products.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage and service major accounts including Lowe’s, Home Depot, ABC Supply, and 84 Lumber, which involves participating in new store openings, conducting product training, facilitating special order sales, and providing in-store support.
- Engage in marketing efforts directed at roofing specialty stores and similar regional companies while maintaining direct relationships with contractors.
- Formulate geographic market strategies tailored to the development of the region.
- Create and execute customer-specific marketing strategies while providing regular updates on activity status.
- Represent the company at regional trade shows as required.
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by the General Manager, Regional Sales Manager, or VP of Sales.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Union Corrugating and American Building Components products as well as competitive offerings.
- Identify and qualify potential new customers.
- Schedule and conduct meetings and presentations with prospects, delivering compelling value propositions.
- Utilize CRM systems to track sales activities and maintain up-to-date account information.
- Continuously nurture customer relationships through consistent follow-ups.
- Maintain a well-structured pipeline of prospects.
- Build and strengthen ongoing relationships with both prospects and customers.
- Achieve or surpass budget and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to enhance sales efforts.
- Manage pricing adjustments with assigned customers.
