We are currently looking for a reliable and motivated Dockworker at our Lemont, IL location.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently load and unload trailers while ensuring safety and accuracy.
- Handle goods and equipment carefully to prevent damage.
- Sort and label skids, placing them in designated areas.
- Conduct inventory counts based on bills of lading, trailer manifests, or packing slips during loading and unloading.
- Assist drivers in the loading and unloading of goods and equipment.
- Perform routine inspections of forklifts to ensure safe operation.
- Maintain cleanliness in the dock area.
- Stack goods in a safe and organized manner.
- Timely submission of reports and required information.
- Execute basic arithmetic calculations as needed.
- Support supervisors in training new staff, participants, clients, and volunteers.
- Load and secure shipments according to established procedures.
- Understand and implement safe and efficient freight handling and lifting protocols.
- Other duties as assigned.
