At Three Trails Animal Hospital, we are proud to host a dynamic externship program designed for DVM students eager to enhance their clinical skills in a real-world environment. This program not only complements your academic journey but also prepares you to excel in delivering exceptional veterinary care post-graduation.
Program Details:
Our externships are adaptable, ranging from two to eight weeks depending on your academic requirements. Typically, externships last between two to three weeks, with shifts that may include days, evenings, and weekends.
During your externship, you will engage directly with our experienced veterinary team, honing your problem-solving, technical, and communication skills under expert supervision. You will actively participate in various aspects of patient care while receiving a weekly stipend of $250.
Your Role:
As part of our team, you will handle a diverse caseload typical of a small animal practice. Under the guidance of your mentor, you will be responsible for gathering patient histories, conducting physical exams, devising diagnostic and treatment plans, assisting in surgeries, managing medical cases, providing wellness care, and improving your client communication and technical skills while maintaining accurate medical records.
