The Role
As the Online Merchandising Manager, you will spearhead our digital merchandising initiatives, controlling the strategy, execution, and performance of product presentation across our Retail and Trade channels. Your goal will be to facilitate a seamless shopping experience where customers can quickly find what they are looking for, comprehend the value of our offerings, and make purchases effortlessly.
We are seeking a proactive individual who embraces operational ownership and is not just a coach from the sidelines. You will define the online merchandising strategy and roadmap while being actively involved with the tools on a daily basis. Managing a team that currently includes a Digital Merchandiser, Senior Digital Merchandiser, and two content executives, you will be responsible for their output, development, and prioritization. You will collaborate closely with UX, Commercial, CRM, Campaigns, Marketing, SEO, and Content teams to transform commercial priorities into well-structured customer journeys.
Please note that you are expected to be in the Tonbridge office every Tuesday and Thursday.
Your Responsibilities
Onsite Merchandising & Customer Journey
- Lead the visibility and prioritization of products on the website for both B2C and B2B clients.
- Create and manage category, collection, and landing pages that ensure easy navigation aligned with commercial goals.
- Implement and uphold product recommendations including cross-sells, upsells, bundles, and tasting sets.
Search, Navigation & Product Discovery
- Direct the strategy and performance of onsite search and navigation.
- Design and maintain filtering systems that allow customers to intuitively narrow down large selections.
- Regularly assess and optimize search performance for improved relevance, conversion rates, and product discovery.
- Minimize instances of failed and zero-result searches through enhanced taxonomy, synonyms, and query management.
Product Information & Content Quality
- Guarantee that product data is complete, accurate, and consistently structured within the PIM.
- Oversee essential product attributes such as age, ABV, cask type, tasting notes, region, and brand information.
- Manage the integration of product data from our platform into the eCommerce system.
UX & Conversion Optimization
- Collaborate with UX and development teams to enhance navigation, filters, product displays, and PDP layouts.
- Utilize analytics, heatmaps, and session recordings to identify obstacles in the customer journey.
- Prioritize and support changes that streamline the purchasing process.
