Analyze and advise on pivotal decisions to ensure that the decommissioning program achieves its intended benefits.
Collaborate with team members and leverage insights from the parent organization to gather lessons learned and advice as needed.
Ensure the development and adherence to appropriate technical processes and operational procedures within the business.
Formulate comprehensive plans for the decommissioning of electrical systems, aiming to minimize disruption to ongoing operations.
Carry out site assessments to identify electrical assets that require removal or isolation.
Coordinate decommissioning timelines with stakeholders, managing logistics, waste, and other site interactions.
Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate electrical hazards.
Supervise lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure safe disconnection of power sources.
Provide innovative solutions to overcome obstacles in the delivery of electrical decommissioning packages, utilizing effective techniques and best practices from prior experiences.
Oversee or assist in the disconnection, removal, and disposal of electrical equipment, including transformers, switchgear, panels, and generators.
Partner closely with contractors, demolition crews, and facility managers to ensure efficient execution of scheduled work.
Maintain documentation of system status pre- and post-decommissioning, including electrical drawings and reports.
Conduct final inspections to verify the safe decommissioning of electrical systems.
Test remaining electrical infrastructure to confirm operational integrity of active partial systems.
Regularly update the isolations register and communicate changes to site personnel.
Ensure the appropriate handling, recycling, or disposal of electrical materials and hazardous waste.
Identify opportunities for repurposing electrical components.
Engage with program stakeholders and suppliers to foster positive relationships, clarify requirements, define interfaces, manage expectations, and communicate effectively with staff. Consult with the Decommissioning Lead Engineer or Engineering Integration Manager for high-impact issue resolution.
Conduct analysis and generate technical reports, presentations, and documentation focused on communicating strategy, plans, options, progress, and risks to the program team and stakeholders.
