About the Deployment & Construction Team
The Deployment and Construction team transforms raw land into operational drone charging stations! Our diverse team combines expertise in civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and construction engineering to ensure exceptional construction execution with zero issues in the initial 30 days, on time and on budget, utilizing scalable, cost-effective, and maintainable designs.
The Role
The Ground System Deployments team is in search of an inquisitive and collaborative Electrical Engineering Intern to assist in the design and deployment of Zipline's Ground Systems across various sites and applications.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in commercial and light-industrial electrical distribution within an autonomous drone delivery framework. Collaborating with seasoned engineers, you will assist with utility coordination, site-level electrical designs, structural wiring strategies, and technical documentation.
You will work alongside mechanical, structural, electrical, and deployment teams, supporting real-world projects and contributing to innovative problem-solving as new challenges emerge. This internship also allows you to explore novel design concepts and contribute to enhancements in our engineering processes. You will become familiar with the National Electrical Code and apply its principles to site and infrastructure designs.
The internship is based in South San Francisco, with occasional travel within California and the U.S. for site visits or field support.
