We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic Emergency Department team at William Osler Health System. As a vital member of our inter-professional health care team, the RN will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with the standards established by Osler and the regulatory guidelines of the College of Nurses. Your expertise will be crucial in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe and effective nursing practice throughout the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures related to patient observations and care protocols.
- Provide professional, patient-centered care that fosters safety and psychological well-being through the development of therapeutic relationships.
- Deliver care empathetically within a culturally diverse environment.
- Implement infection control and prevention measures diligently.
- Respond to emergencies by identifying changes in patients' health status and consulting with the appropriate team members, following transfer of accountability protocols.
- Educate patients and their families with comprehensive discharge instructions to ensure continuity of care in the community.
