Join us as our Employee Relations Advisor, where you will play a pivotal role in fostering a positive workplace culture at our Kolomela and Sishen mines. Your key responsibilities will encompass:
Safety and Health:
- Champion safety and health in all team engagements, setting a standard for zero harm and accident prevention.
- Lead by example to cultivate a safety-first mindset among team members.
- Promote a culture of transparent reporting regarding unsafe practices without fear of retaliation.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks through tailored operational risk management strategies.
- Utilize operational risk management systems to monitor critical control performance and weave them into daily operations.
- Establish and uphold robust Safety and Health protocols within your area of responsibility.
- Assess and enhance the safety leadership capabilities of direct reports.
- Ensure all team members are fit for duty and take necessary actions when issues arise.
- Conduct comprehensive safety interactions, regular visual inspections, and workplace audits.
- Perform physical safety assessments and offer coaching to improve practices.
- Gather and analyze data for safety reports and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Address and rectify identified deficiencies promptly.
- Actively engage in Visible Felt Leadership (VFLs), risk assessments, and the closure of safety actions.
Performance Delivery:
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations issues, ensuring compliance with labour legislation and organizational policies.
- Manage disciplinary cases and resolve conflicts in accordance with the mine's relationship strategy and principles of fairness.
- Offer specialized support to line managers and HR teams in understanding policies, procedures, and labour laws to mitigate risks.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with trade unions through open dialogue and collaborative solutions, fostering labour stability.
- Enhance managerial skills by designing training programs on effective disciplinary management and conflict resolution.
- Ensure equitable management of diversity across recognized unions, promoting fair negotiations and conflict resolution.
- Implement and uphold compliance with collective agreements, arbitration results, and statutory obligations.
- Advise Mine leadership strategically, ensuring the confidentiality and accuracy of employee relations documentation.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of employee relations data to spot trends and recommend proactive measures.
- Collaborate in developing and executing tailored labour relations strategies, policies, and action plans.
- Foster trust-based relationships with internal and external stakeholders to effectively align interests and resolve conflicts.
