About Our Opportunity:
As an End of Life Vehicle (ELV) Operative, you will play a crucial role in the safe and compliant handling and processing of end-of-life vehicles. You will also be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining efficient stock management.
Your Responsibilities:
- Complete training in all aspects of ELV operations, including obtaining a Forklift Truck (FLT) license, using small tools, and performing vehicle de-pollution.
- Greet customers at the ELV drop-off points and conduct thorough inspections of the vehicles.
- Evaluate vehicles to determine the need for de-pollution and verify completeness for accurate pricing.
- Utilize a mobile device to document the removal of parts from each vehicle.
- Correctly store all commodities removed from vehicles, including:
- Batteries in designated battery boxes
- Wheels stacked on pallets and shrink-wrapped upon completion of a full pallet
- Catalytic converters marked with barcode stickers and placed in secure storage
- Regularly weigh removed batteries, wheels, and catalytic converters as sales are dispatched.
- Meet daily targets for the number of vehicles processed for de-pollution.
- Provide precise valuations of catalytic converters with training provided.
- Ensure high housekeeping standards to keep the ELV facility and surrounding areas clean and organized.
- Actively contribute to depot safety performance by being a safety leader on-site.
- Identify, report, and address hazards, challenge unsafe practices, and ensure compliance with all EMR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
