We invite applications for the Engineering Apprentice position at our McIntosh Donald factory located in Portlethen, Aberdeen, Scotland. As an apprentice, you will receive dedicated support from a Mentor who will guide you throughout your training, helping you achieve your qualifications.
This apprenticeship program serves as an ideal gateway into Engineering and the broader Food Industry through a structured pathway. You will earn a salary while you learn, with Kepak providing compensation throughout your training as you work towards a Level 3 Engineering apprenticeship.

Your Role Will Involve:
- Executing Planned Preventative Maintenance as instructed.
- Carrying out maintenance and rectification tasks following audits, inspections, and production reports.
- Implementing continuous improvement strategies for plant and equipment to minimize recurring failures and enhance site efficiency.
- Maintaining workshop, plant rooms, and engineering storage areas to exceed internal and external audit standards.
- Ensuring that workshop tools and equipment are kept in a clean, serviceable state, ready for operational use.
- Documenting work completed via both paper-based and computer systems.
- Supporting the engineering function to minimize production downtime and achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Identifying any additional spare parts necessary for task completion, with usage monitored through monthly KPIs.
- Reporting any risks or evidence of unsafe or non-conforming products, equipment, packaging, or raw materials to a designated manager for prompt resolution.
