The vision of Canva Print is to enable everyone to print any design, emphasizing ethical and sustainable practices, like our One Print, One Tree initiative. Our team consists of over 100 individuals across Australia, the Philippines, and the United States, with more than 50 engineers primarily located in Sydney.
The Print Promotion team is dedicated to guiding customers toward Print through trust, social validation, appealing offers, and loyalty initiatives. As we transition to a two-sided marketplace model, this team will be crucial in helping customers select the appropriate print merchant while upholding quality standards.
About the Role
As the Engineering Manager for the Print Promotions team, you will collaborate with product managers, marketing experts, and other stakeholders to establish the team's direction. In your leadership role, you will guide the team to achieve immediate tactical objectives while laying the groundwork for future innovations. As you delve deeper into Canva's print business, you'll generate and test new ideas on a global scale.
Responsibilities
Mentor and cultivate engineers by providing consistent, actionable feedback to facilitate their personal and professional development.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and marketing personnel to define clear objectives for the team.
Develop the team's technical strategy in partnership with senior engineers.
Promote a culture of collaboration, recognition, high performance, and practical engineering.
Oversee the team's development methodology, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives, to foster a high-performing environment.
Balance immediate tactical deliveries with long-term platform initiatives to empower other teams across the business.
