Within this team, the Integrity division plays a critical role in protecting our platform by proactively identifying misuse, preventing abuse, and ensuring user safety. We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Engineering Manager (Web Safety) to guide our strategic direction, develop advanced system protections, and lead a specialized team of seasoned Machine Learning Engineers (MLEs).
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement next-generation system protections, involving hands-on design, model training, and deployment strategies.
Lead and mentor a small, senior team of Machine Learning Engineers, providing them with clear guidance and autonomy.
Collaborate with Research, Safety, Product, and Policy teams to harness existing tools and propel cutting-edge advancements.
Leverage state-of-the-art models for effective detection and prevention of problematic content.
Establish robust evaluation frameworks and metrics to gauge progress and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
Foster professional development within your team, ensuring high performance through mentorship and clear career paths.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Possess extensive hands-on experience managing machine learning teams, preferably in web safety, content integrity, or related fields.
Demonstrated success in training, fine-tuning, or distilling LLMs and traditional ML models to address real-world business challenges.
Enjoy being technically involved—actively engaging in solution design, model training, and guiding deployment processes with your team.
Excel at cross-team collaboration to integrate existing tools and thoughtfully develop new solutions.
Exhibit strong emotional intelligence and empathy, effectively connecting with team members.
