Meter is at the forefront of developing cutting-edge networking infrastructure essential for businesses such as Lyft and Reddit to maintain seamless connectivity. As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our Enterprise Sales team to enhance networking solutions for our customers, leveraging your technical acumen to engage and win over IT and network engineers.
You will play a pivotal role in a dynamic team of Enterprise Sales Engineers, tasked with creating and implementing the technical framework necessary to compete against long-established vendors in an industry that has been resistant to new entrants for decades.
Key Performance Indicators
In your initial weeks, you will foster relationships with key stakeholders including Sales team members, your fellow Sales Engineers, and teams involved in the design and manufacturing of our hardware and software solutions. Establishing these relationships will position you as a trusted internal advisor.
You will refine your networking knowledge across various domains such as routing, switching, wireless, and security, with the goal of becoming a Subject Matter Expert on the entire Meter product line. This expertise will bolster your credibility and confidence when engaging with customers and partners.
As you deepen your understanding of Meter’s offerings, you will actively participate in sales calls, contributing to a significant boost in our quarterly Enterprise revenue (over $1M) by spearheading technical discovery sessions and devising tailored technical solutions that empower our Sales team to close deals successfully.
As you gain more exposure, you will assist the Sales Engineering team in refining processes and structures. You will create and develop resources addressing common Enterprise scenarios (e.g., EVPN-VXLAN reference architectures or 802.1X integration guides) and standardize documentation and training for key networking areas, enabling the sales team to expedite deal cycles and enhance win rates.
Through your contributions to establishing standards for a successful Sales Engineering team and driving substantial revenue growth, you will have a clear trajectory towards advancing into a Principal Sales Engineer role, specializing in new verticals, or stepping into leadership positions. You can also focus on our most strategic accounts or have the opportunity to recruit, mentor, and design the onboarding process for the next generation of Sales Engineers at Meter.
