As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you will collaborate closely with our Enterprise Sales team to enhance networking solutions for a broader customer base, leveraging your technical acumen to engage and win over IT and network engineers.
You will play a pivotal role within our nascent team of Enterprise Sales Engineers, contributing to the design and development of innovative technical strategies aimed at displacing legacy vendors in a long-stagnant industry.
Key Indicators of Success
Within your initial weeks, you will focus on cultivating relationships with various teams, including Sales representatives and leadership, fellow Sales Engineers, product design and manufacturing teams, and those responsible for deploying and maintaining customer networks. Establishing these connections will enable you to become a trusted internal advisor.
You will also refine your skills across routing, switching, wireless, and security, aspiring to become a Subject Matter Expert within the Meter portfolio. This expertise will bolster your credibility and confidence in engagements with customers and partners.
As you gain familiarity with our products, you will actively participate in sales calls, leading technical discovery sessions and crafting solutions that will contribute to an immediate increase in our quarterly Enterprise revenue by over $1 million.
With greater exposure, you will assist the Sales Engineering team in establishing processes and standards. You will create new resources addressing common Enterprise use cases, such as EVPN-VXLAN reference architectures and 802.1X integration guides, while standardizing documentation and training for core networking topics. This will ultimately facilitate quicker deal cycles and improve our win rates.
As we establish the foundations for a thriving Sales Engineering team and drive substantial revenue growth through collaboration, you will have a clear trajectory towards becoming a Principal Sales Engineer, specializing in a new sector, or progressing into a leadership role. Opportunities will exist to lead our most strategic accounts or to recruit, mentor, and shape the onboarding process for future Sales Engineers at Meter.
