Salary and Benefits Overview:
As a newly appointed BPA, your annual base salary will range from $51,632 to $92,219, depending on your grade level (GL-5/GL-7). Employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, generous leave programs, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement savings plan similar to a traditional ROTH 401(k).
Recruitment and Retention Incentives:
Newly appointed BPAs may qualify for recruitment incentives of up to $20,000, distributed as follows: $10,000 upon completing the Border Patrol Academy and an additional $10,000 for accepting positions in prioritized locations such as Sierra Blanca, Presidio, Sanderson, Comstock, Freer, or Hebbronville, TX; Lordsburg, NM; or Ajo, AZ. Furthermore, you may also be eligible for retention incentives totaling up to $40,000 over your first four years.
Duty Locations:
Please note that duty assignments will be determined based on operational needs and may require relocation. Positions may be available at the Southwest Border, including prioritized locations. Additionally, fully trained BPAs may earn up to 25% additional pay based on the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014.
