As part of a dedicated team, you will engage in critical missions to protect America's borders. We are currently hiring for full-time positions that may leverage your previous experience in public safety, security, military, or law enforcement.

Salary and Benefits
Newly appointed BPAs can expect an annual salary ranging from $51,632 to $92,219, depending on the grade level (GL-5/GL-7). Employees are entitled to a comprehensive benefits package that includes health and dental insurance, generous annual and sick leave, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan (similar to a ROTH 401(k)).
Recruitment Incentives
New hires may be eligible for up to $20,000 in incentives, with $10,000 awarded upon successful completion of the Border Patrol Academy, and an additional $10,000 for accepting positions in prioritized locations such as Sierra Blanca, Presidio, and Ajo.
Retention Incentives
Newly appointed Border Patrol Agents may qualify for up to $40,000 in additional incentives over their first four years.
Duty Locations
Please note that duty assignments may include the Southwest Border and other prioritized locations. USBP determines assignments based on operational needs, which may differ from your preferences. Relocation may be required.
The potential for increased pay exists based on locality; fully trained BPAs may earn an additional 25% of base pay according to the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014. This is a career ladder position with potential grade progression from GL-5 to GS-12.
