Salary and Benefits
Starting salaries for Border Patrol Agents range from $51,632 to $92,219 annually, depending on grade level (GL-5/GL-7). In addition to a competitive salary, you will have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, generous leave programs, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement savings plan similar to a traditional ROTH 401(k).
Incentives
Newly appointed Border Patrol Agents may qualify for up to $20,000 in recruitment incentives, with payments distributed upon academy completion and relocation to prioritized areas. Furthermore, agents may receive up to $40,000 in retention incentives over their first four years.
Duty Locations
Please note that duty assignments will be determined by operational needs and may require relocation. Duty locations may include the Southwest Border and other prioritized areas, with pay rates varying depending on the location.
This is a career ladder position with advancement opportunities through grade levels GL-5 to GS-12.
