Apex is currently looking for enthusiastic Environmental Field Scientists who will be responsible for conducting thorough on-site environmental assessments at various operational locations. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal corporate environmental protocols. Utilizing an established checklist, you will evaluate facility operations, identify risks, ensure proper implementation of environmental programs, and recommend corrective actions as needed to support regulatory compliance.
This position is based in Phoenix, AZ, but we are hiring nationwide, including in cities such as Boston, Newark, Philadelphia, Raleigh, Jackson, Atlanta, Tampa, Nashville, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Louisville, Chicago, Minneapolis, Dallas, Kansas City, Denver, Pocatello, Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco/Bay Area, and Sacramento.
The anticipated start date is mid-March.
Travel: This role requires approximately 80% travel to operational sites, necessitating the ability to drive to client locations within a 300-mile radius of Phoenix.
Your Responsibilities as an Environmental Field Scientist:
- Conduct scheduled and on-call environmental inspections at operational sites to evaluate:
- Hazardous waste handling, labeling, and storage
- Universal waste management
