We are currently seeking an Entry-Level Laboratory Technician to be part of our Sample Receiving Team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving and prioritizing sample packages, verifying chains of custody, and accurately logging all samples into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) following strict SOPs.
The ideal candidate will thrive both independently and as part of a collaborative team, meeting daily production targets and ensuring compliance with hold times and turnaround expectations. Your commitment to quality will be essential, as you will adhere to all policies and procedures while maintaining a safe laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and sort incoming sample packages based on turnaround times and analytical priorities, documenting any discrepancies against the chain of custody.
- Utilize LIMS to track all packages and reusable media, ensuring efficient return of unused media for future use.
- Create unique login identifications for each sample submission and apply appropriate labels using LIMS.
- Assign analytical test codes to samples in accordance with client specifications.
- Communicate effectively with client services and lab operations to address any issues related to sample processing.
- Package and ship samples for subcontracting as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and perform necessary quality checks to ensure the highest standards.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as required.
