Join Water Tech as an Entry-Level Wastewater Operator in Hemlock, MI, where you will embark on a journey to master various wastewater treatment processes. This role is designed for individuals eager to gain hands-on experience in managing treatment plants, machinery, and equipment dedicated to the clarification and purification of water and wastewater for industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire skills to operate and regulate electric motors, pumps, and valves to manage water flow into treatment facilities.
- Learn to collect and analyze water samples for concentration levels and impurities.
- Engage in scheduled maintenance, servicing, and installation of water treatment equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of client data, including chemical residual levels, water turbidity, and pressure readings.
- Adhere to all safety protocols established by clients.
- Communicate effectively with fellow operators and management regarding any non-routine operational issues.
- Assist in compiling data for the Environmental Protection Agency and collaborate with other operators to maintain plant water treatment systems.
- Coordinate with Veolia's purchasing department to procure necessary wastewater treatment supplies.
- Troubleshoot issues with wastewater treatment equipment and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Individually prepare for the physical/chemical or biological wastewater certification exam, with training materials provided.
- Be flexible to work various shifts (days, evenings, nights) ranging from 8 to 12 hours.
- Willingness to travel for training across several locations in the U.S., with potential travel time of 1 to 3 weeks, and up to 75% travel for learning new processes.
