Environmental Engineer
Location: Tyler, TX
Pay: Competitive based on experience
Shift Days: Monday–Friday
Shift Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize personal and team safety through the use of appropriate PPE and by fostering a culture of safety.
- Ensure adherence to Federal and State Air regulations including RCRA, SPCC, SWPPP, NPDES, DOT, and EPCRA.
- Implement and uphold environmental and safety protocols and procedures.
- Motivate employees to participate in environmental, safety, and process enhancement initiatives.
- Oversee environmental project activities such as air pollution control, stormwater management, and wastewater treatment procedures.
- Prepare, refine, and finalize environmental reports while maintaining comprehensive records.
- Evaluate environmental risks and provide guidance to team members regarding environmental implications.
- Perform emissions calculations for permit applications and modifications.
- Design and execute sampling and monitoring strategies.
- Oversee hazardous materials management and chemical waste disposal.
- Conduct site investigations and compile compliance documentation.
- Review and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and calculate material compositions for EPCRA reporting.
- Support environmental software systems and provide training related to environmental practices.
- Respond to environmental incidents in line with EHS guidelines.
- Stay informed about advancements in technology and regulatory changes.
- Draft technical documentation for regulatory submissions and internal purposes.
- Collaborate with plant supervisors to guide hourly employees in fulfilling environmentally related responsibilities effectively.
- While these duties represent the primary functions of the role, additional tasks may be assigned by the Environmental Manager or company leadership to support environmental compliance and operational goals.
