The NYC Department of Design and Construction, Division of Safety & Site Support, invites applications for the role of Environmental Project Manager. In this position, the successful candidate will oversee environmental consultants and drilling contractors, ensuring the highest standards of technical accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and cost-effectiveness. The Environmental Project Manager will be tasked with reviewing essential capital project design documents, including Phase I environmental site assessments, Phase II subsurface investigation reports, Environmental Assessment/Impact Statements, and various permit applications. Additionally, they will manage field visits, coordinate environmental projects of varying complexities, respond to hazardous material incidents, and develop remediation plans to comply with Federal, NYS, and NYC regulations. The role requires a thorough review of sampling protocols, interpretation of analytical results, and the preparation of technical reports and standard operating procedures. Candidates will also be responsible for delivering presentations on regulatory compliance.
