Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prioritize personal and team safety.
- Utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including fall and respiratory protection, as well as hand, foot, head, and eye safety gear.
- Champion The McWane Way principles in daily operations.
- Support the formulation of compliance strategies to adhere to environmental regulations.
- Oversee environmental project tasks, including the operation and maintenance of air pollution control systems and stormwater monitoring equipment.
- Contribute to the effectiveness of the environmental management system.
- Evaluate environmental risks associated with activities and advise team members on their impact.
- Perform calculations for potential emissions relevant to air permit applications/modifications.
- Design and execute sampling and monitoring plans, including the installation and maintenance of related equipment.
- Conduct visible emission observations in accordance with Method 9 standards.
- Implement stormwater sampling protocols as per EPA regulations.
- Apply knowledge of RCRA and DOT regulations.
- Analyze data to ensure compliance with environmental standards and provide management with informed recommendations.
- Create technical documentation for regulatory agency interactions and internal requirements.
- Prepare environmental monitoring and shipping reports for regulatory submission.
- Calculate material composition metrics for EPCRA reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle environmental challenges.
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly to supervisors or management.
- Encourage employee engagement in environmental improvements and process changes.
Supervisory Duties
Collaborate with plant supervisors to guide hourly employees in fulfilling environmental-related responsibilities effectively.
