Join the esteemed team at the St. James Hotel as a Part-time Event Captain. We are looking for a reliable and seasoned individual who will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing the banquet experience for our guests. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in coordinating and supervising banquet service staff, bartenders, and other house personnel to ensure seamless event execution and unparalleled guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the performance and duties of banquet servers, bartenders, and house staff to guarantee high-quality service.
- Facilitate effective communication and provide coaching and performance evaluations to enhance staff productivity.
- Implement and uphold hotel policies, procedures, and training programs to foster staff development.
- Act as the acting department head in the absence of management, representing the hotel to guests, clients, and vendors.
- Address and resolve any guest service complaints to maintain a high standard of satisfaction.
- Ensure that all banquet areas are maintained in a clean, organized manner, adhering to established schedules.
- Utilize POS, Sales & Catering, and Inventory Management systems for billing and inventory control.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and orientation of new staff, ensuring a safe and legal work environment.
- Comply with all Health Code standards regarding the safe handling of food and beverages.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and efficient services.
