About the job
At Flexcompute, a pioneering tech startup at the forefront of scientific computing, we are excited to unveil our latest initiative: "Rising Stars in Scientific Computing". Our team, with strong ties to MIT and Stanford, is supported by elite venture capitalists and our innovative products are relied upon by Fortune 500 companies, cutting-edge startups, and academic researchers globally. We are currently seeking full-time, in-office candidates eager to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of scientific computing.
This program, set to run from 2024 to 2026, aims to recruit ten extraordinary recent graduates from Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science. These individuals will become integral members of our technical team, propelling our growth into the 2030s. Each recruit will be paired with a seasoned technical mentor, allowing for rapid professional development while tackling stimulating technical challenges. You'll engage with complex issues ranging from analyzing persistent divergences to optimizing GPU efficiency, and from multi-physics problems to multi-scale simulations. This role is not for the faint-hearted; however, if you are ambitious, driven, and ready to make a meaningful contribution to the scientific computing landscape, you'll find these challenges incredibly rewarding.
Immediate Responsibilities:
- Physics computing: Design and implement algorithms and software for physics simulations across various domains including electromagnetics, photonics, fluid dynamics, and structural analysis.
- Infrastructure computing: Create algorithms and software to enhance computational experiences, focusing on optimizing GPU computing systems, managing large-scale scientific data, and next-generation workflow optimization.
Growth Trajectory within 3 Years:
- Become respected experts in computational electromagnetics, fluid dynamics, and structural analysis.
- Advance to senior frontend or backend development roles.
- Become elite HPC specialists.
- Transition into emerging software architects.
- Grow into dynamic engineering management positions.
- Develop as creative product managers and persuasive marketers.
- Flourish in result-driven technical sales roles.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- Recent graduates or students about to graduate in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
- Exceptional programming skills in C++. (Candidates lacking C++ expertise may compensate with a strong history of contributions to open-source projects in other programming languages.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Robust knowledge in Electromagnetics, Photonics, Computational Geometry, Fluid Mechanics, and Structural Mechanics.
