Job Purpose
The Executive Director (ED) will take the helm of our organization, leading strategic initiatives, fostering stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the fulfillment of our mission. The ED will play a crucial role in advocating our values while nurturing partnerships with donors, government entities, and various stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Organizational Direction
- Provide visionary leadership, translating our mission and strategic objectives into tangible results.
- Lead the implementation of board-approved strategies, ensuring cohesive alignment across all programs, operations, and partnerships.
- Continuously monitor external trends (policy shifts, donor priorities, and the development landscape) to adapt and reposition the organization effectively.
- Instill and champion our organizational values, ethics, and culture at all levels.
Stakeholder Engagement, External Representation, and Board Engagement
- Establish and nurture high-level relationships with private sector stakeholders, donors, development partners, and civil society organizations.
- Act as the principal representative and spokesperson for the organization.
- Drive strategic advocacy efforts to enhance our visibility, credibility, and influence.
- Represent the organization at national, regional, and international forums.
- Serve as the key liaison between management and the Board of Directors.
- Support the Board in governance, compliance, and strategic oversight responsibilities.
Organizational Accountability, Leadership, and Performance
- Ensure robust systems for accountability, risk management, compliance, and internal controls are in place.
- Oversee organizational performance across programs, finance, operations, and workforce.
- Uphold safeguarding, ethics, and compliance standards consistently.
- Promote leadership development, succession planning, and talent retention.
- Foster a results-oriented culture focused on learning, impact, and continuous improvement.
- Encourage an inclusive, high-performance, mission-driven organizational culture.
- Lead fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and partnership development.
- Drive proposal development and negotiate with donors for significant funding opportunities.
