We are currently seeking a skilled Facilities Operator to assist in managing a Tier 3 equivalent colocation data center facility. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing Facility Operations to ensure adherence to the standards required for federal agencies. This position involves monitoring 24/7 operations and access control of the data center.
This role supports the NCCIPSv2 Contract, which is managed by the NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC). The National Center for Critical Information Processing and Storage (NCCIPS) is a federal shared services facility that supports various federal agency data centers through Interagency Agreements. Located on a 64-acre campus within NASA Stennis Space Center in southern Mississippi, NCCIPS encompasses a secure facility of 200,000 sq. ft. This is an on-site position at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi.
Job Overview
The Facilities Operator will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and controlling data center equipment and systems (including electrical, mechanical, access control, life-safety systems, Building Automation System (BAS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), etc.) in accordance with data center and OEM standard operating procedures and safety standards.
- Performing additional job-related duties as required.
- Overseeing the Endura system cameras, issuing NCCIPS badges to personnel, providing front desk coverage as needed, managing the CCURE badging system, and responding to Siemens fire system alerts.
- Demonstrating proficiency in all aspects of BAS and Access Control, with regular rotation through various positions.
- Maintaining and distributing a daily log of events, documenting information, and assisting in the creation of Incident Reports for any unusual occurrences.
- Availability to work rotating day and night shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- Covering vacant shifts as necessary.
