As a Facilities Quality Coordinator at Micron Technology, Inc. in Boise, Idaho, you will leverage your mechanical, industrial, and engineering expertise to enhance established quality metrics within the department. You will coach colleagues on improved quality control and assurance methodologies and act as a catalyst for fostering a robust quality culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate for quality during departmental meetings, proactively addressing behaviors that contradict a quality-centric culture.
- Collaborate with department leadership to craft a strategic roadmap aimed at elevating quality awareness within the team, embodying leadership in these initiatives.
- Engage in regular meetings with site quality representatives to align with site initiatives and disseminate best-known methods across departments.
- Ensure that critical knowledge is effectively documented for the benefit of all team members.
- Instill a culture of problem-solving, utilizing the “5-Why method” and true 8D processes through training and mentorship.
- Recognize individual contributions to reinforce positive practices and enhance team morale.
- Champion a quality-focused culture within your area of influence.
Event Management:
- Apply 8D corrective actions to all SAP events, targeting resolution with true root cause analysis and preventive actions within a 60-day timeframe.
- Oversee all aspects of the Global Problem-Solving System (GPSS) events, ensuring timely treatment and closure.
Performance Monitoring:
- Analyze quality trends and develop a comprehensive database of quality metrics, reporting these insights at both executive and weekly meetings.
- Facilitate monthly quality meetings with the Facilities management team to discuss trends and propose improvements.
- Lead quality reviews during each fiscal year’s planning sessions, promoting ongoing enhancement.
Collaboration:
- Act as the primary communication channel with the global facilities quality team, sharing lessons learned and metrics regularly.
- Work closely with Area Quality Champions (AQCs) at the Boise site to share insights, evaluate program effectiveness, and conduct GPSS audits to maintain adherence to global quality standards.
