Join RF Connect as a skilled Field Engineer, where you will play a vital role in the pre and post-sale monitoring, as well as the maintenance processes for advanced Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Wi-Fi, Point-to-Point, and other communication systems across the Norwich/New Haven Metro Area. Your expertise in utilizing signal testing equipment and software will enable you to conduct thorough facility surveys, assessing both indoor and outdoor cellular, two-way radio, and Wi-Fi signal strength and pathways. You will analyze installation specifications, owner requirements, and manufacturer instructions to effectively evaluate installation sites.
In this position, you will be stationed at customer facilities and report directly to the Field Engineering Supervisor. The role requires self-motivation and the ability to work independently while being within commuting distance of customer locations in the Norwich/New Haven CT metro area.
Your Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team leaders and senior engineers to manage and complete deployment engineering tasks for RF Connect’s pre and post-sales DAS and RF business.
- Oversee project Warranty, Monitoring, and Maintenance contracts for clients in the service area.
- Ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLA) and timely delivery for maintenance contracts and RF deployment activities.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support alongside Tier 1 NOC Engineers.
- Conduct site evaluations to support pre-sales efforts by assessing coverage and facility conditions.
- Utilize mobile software and devices for data collection, both for baseline benchmarking and post-DAS verification.
- Execute post-installation commissioning and optimization as needed.
- Perform CW/RF path loss testing to validate system designs at customer locations.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Document designs and provide project support during the deployment phase.
- Define best practices to ensure RF Connect maintains its SLAs for critical 24/7/365 customer operations.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to manage service delivery budgets effectively.
- Conduct on-site surveys, including constructability assessments and RF benchmarking.
- Balance project demands, customer maintenance needs, and sales objectives to deliver outstanding service.
- Support in identifying subcontractors to fulfill SLA agreements within the local market.
