Join SGS as a Field Inspector I, where you will play a vital role in inspecting grain and food oil transport systems, as well as loading and unloading processes. Under general supervision, you will ensure compliance with established government regulations and standard operating procedures through thorough sampling of various commodities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and sampling of containers, barges, and rail cars across diverse locations.
- Supervise the loading and counting of agricultural products according to applicable standards and procedures.
- Physically measure, weigh, sample, and take temperatures of a variety of agricultural products, following established guidelines.
- Calculate transferred quantities and perform full reconciliations as required.
- Assist in the initial analysis of different grains, expediting the sampling process for Grain Graders.
- Transport commodity samples between loading terminals and the office.
- Perform basic laboratory testing of samples under supervision when necessary.
- Document the inspection process meticulously through notes and photographs, reporting all field activities in accordance with National/Regional field forms.
- Maintain ongoing communication with administrative staff regarding job status, progress, and any arising issues.
- Stay updated on and adhere to the latest industry and client procedures.
- Commit to safe practices, prioritizing the health and safety of SGS employees and clients in line with SGS policies.
- Always uphold the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct.
- Follow internal standards, policies, and procedures diligently.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
