As a Field Merchandise Manager specializing in seafood, you will take charge of sourcing, screening, selecting, and managing product assortments to meet and exceed sales and margin objectives. Your role will involve conducting comprehensive market analysis to pinpoint specific niches within your department.
You will mentor and guide Assistant Merchandise Managers (Assistant Buyers), fostering their skills, organizational commitment, and engagement in their roles. Regular store visits are essential to build strong partnerships with Store General Managers and staff, ensuring smooth operations.
In addition, you will provide vital article and supplier data for the computerized system, maintain competitive promotional and regular pricing, and ensure product quality adheres to both company standards and government regulations.
Your responsibilities also include delivering necessary information and documents (such as articles, suppliers, orders, and promotions) to stores while also identifying operational challenges during store visits and following up on article quality and presentation.
As an ambassador of our company, you will display professionalism at all times. You will oversee and provide support to Assistant Merchandise Managers, enabling them to fulfill their responsibilities effectively.
Innovation is key; you will develop new products based on market demands and contributions to sales and margins. Planning and conducting regular Business Reviews with suppliers to negotiate favorable deals for the company will also be part of your role.
Regular supplier meetings with a predefined agenda and documented summaries will facilitate easy follow-ups, while you commit to all agreements made with suppliers, ensuring clarity in invoicing and pricing arrangements.
