About Rapyuta Robotics
Founded in 2014 as a spin-off from ETH Zurich, Rapyuta Robotics is a cutting-edge robotics company dedicated to enhancing lives through connected machines. Our vision, 'Empowering Lives With Connected Machines', drives us to automate tedious tasks in logistics, enabling people to take on more intelligent and creative roles. With approximately 10.6 billion yen in total funding, our cloud robotics platform, 'rapyuta.io', connects diverse manufacturers and functionalities of robots on a unified platform, optimizing route planning and task allocation through swarm intelligence AI.
In the logistics sector, we integrate picking assist robots, automated warehouses, and automated forklifts on the same cloud infrastructure, achieving productivity boosts and flexible automation without the need for extensive renovations in existing warehouses.
Key Solutions (Award-Winning)
- Rapyuta PA-AMR (Picking Assist Robot): Doubles picking productivity with a 70% domestic market share (Winner of the 2023 Good Design Award).
- Rapyuta ASRS (Flexible Automated Warehouse): Achieves up to 10x operational productivity and 2.5x storage efficiency (Gold Winner of the 2024 Good Design Award).
- Rapyuta AFL (Automated Forklift): Automates pallet transport with high-precision self-location, adaptable to existing warehouses, including nighttime unmanned operations.
Role Expectations
The Field Sales team focuses on logistics companies (3PL and shippers) and e-commerce fulfillment clients, leveraging our cloud robotics to enhance on-site KPIs (productivity, reduced walking distances, and labor cost risks). In this position, you will manage the entire sales process, from lead generation to proposal, order acquisition, implementation, stable operation, and expansion proposals. Collaborating closely with internal teams in business development, engineering, and customer success, you will lead the creation of impactful results.
This role transcends traditional sales; it requires understanding the latest robotics technologies and designing new work environments as a logistics consultant.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sales activities from identifying enterprise customer challenges to securing contracts
Dive deep into customer operations, gathering data on volume and workforce during peak/off-peak times, analyzing data to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement. Conduct high-precision simulations before product implementation to present optimal robot counts, anticipated productivity gains (e.g., doubling productivity with PA-AMR), and ROI, leading the contract acquisition process. Leverage our flexibility for seamless integration into existing warehouses without significant renovations, and advocate for our subscription (RaaS) model to support customer investment decisions. - Plan and support implementation projects
After securing an order, lead the planning of implementation projects (structure, schedule, KPIs, safety plans) and manage progress to drive the entire project. Support the launch of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to ensure smooth on-site operations. - Drive customer success post-implementation
After implementation, collaborate with the customer success team to conduct regular reviews, maintaining ongoing dialogue with customers. Based on operational data (productivity, AMR wait times) from CRM and dashboards, propose additional strategies for KPI improvement and inventory optimization, maximizing on-site value. Lead value expansion and long-term relationship building through flexible scaling adjustments (RaaS model strengths) and proposals for expansion to other locations. - Formulate and execute data-driven sales strategies
Utilize CRM for lead/pipeline management, stage-specific accuracy assessments, and performance analysis, leading the formulation and execution of sales strategies based on these insights. Analyze success cases to develop reproducible processes and enhance team and organizational sales productivity.
