SOSi is looking for a talented Field Service Engineer (FSE) to facilitate mission-critical connectivity at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam, Hawaii. Key Responsibilities
Evaluate local and wide area network systems by planning, designing, assessing, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites, as well as configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices. Troubleshoot interoperability issues to ensure seamless operations across all platforms, including email, file transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing, and more; configure systems based on user specifications. Assist in the procurement of hardware and software, as well as subcontractor services as necessary; conduct various tests and document outcomes. Administer and maintain local and wide area networks; offer technical support and troubleshooting for users. Design network layout plans; may oversee network security.
- Collaborate on multiple functional teams in alignment with contract enterprise needs, including Incident Management and Response, Installation and Configuration, System Performance Monitoring, Network Performance Monitoring, and Patching Teams.
- Oversee the usage and performance of voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
- Ensure network security and compliance with established security policies and protocols.
- Assess hardware and software, including peripheral, output, and associated equipment.
- Engage in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
- Participate in and potentially lead significant network installations and upgrades.
- Coordinate with vendors to effectively resolve network outages or performance issues.
- Devise and implement testing strategies, documenting results accordingly.
- Provide guidance and training to end-users.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- May provide mentorship to less-experienced network personnel.
- Stay informed about relevant hardware and software applications as assigned.
- Contribute to special projects as needed.
- Manage the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers operating on one or more operating systems.
- Ensure the integrity and security of the network systems.
